My career in non-clinincal health care began in 1997. I was working at a now defunct local internet service provider. When I was laid off without any prospects or formal education, I decided it was time for a change. I took a course in EKG technology and Hospital Unit Coordinating at a local community college. Soon after, I was employed as a Unit Clerk. After working in this very stressful job, I found that I hated it. I soon desired to transfer to another department. One thing that really stood out to me in the information packet that I received was a cassette tape. Yes, I'm showing my age, but it's so amazing how quickly technology has changed.
